Welcoming the 12th Class of the Girls Advisory Board

WEST CHESTER, PA (September 30, 2015) – The Chester County Fund for Women and Girls welcomed its 12th class of the Girls Advisory Board (GAB). To date, GAB has awarded over 70 grants totaling close to $224,000 to programs that aim to improve the lives of girls and young women in the county.  Through this award-winning philanthropy program, high school girls learn to address critical needs in their communities

GAB is comprised of 20 girls from 12 schools and 13 different communities in Chester County.  Each girl brings a passion for philanthropy, her unique perspective, and an eagerness to learn about the needs of our area.  During the next three months, this diverse group of ambitious girls will learn about the economic, social and health needs of girls in the community. The young women will set funding priorities, create a grant application, visit nonprofit agencies and recommend specific programs for funding. GAB trains young women to be active participants in the community.

Sign-up for the Fund’s e-news to stay up-to-date on GAB and other Fund news   http://www.ccfwg.org/contact-us/. The next enrollment period will begin in May, 2016. For more about GAB, click here.
