The Chester County Fund for Women and Girls Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement

West Chester, PA (November 9, 2016) – The Chester County Fund for Women and Girls has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Donations support CCFWG’s award winning program, the Girls Advisory Board (GAB). GAB redefines what it means to be a leader in the 21st century and empowers young women with tools to activate philanthropic leadership and work to address societal challenges that impact their lives and the lives of families, friends and neighbors.

Any money raised on #GivingTuesday (November 29, 2016) will be used for GAB. This program provides high-school girls living in Chester County with the opportunity to learn about the deep and varied needs in their communities while engaging in strategic grant-making. Through GAB, CCFWG aims to educate a new generation of young women about the importance of philanthropy, community service and the positive difference each girl can make on the lives of others.

The Chester County Fund for Women and Girls leads and unites the community through philanthropy and advocacy to ensure that women and girls have resources and opportunities to thrive.  For more than 19 years, CCFWG has raised awareness about the critical needs of women and girls, awarding over $2.6 million to 69 Chester County non-profit organizations. To learn more about the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls, visit www.ccfwg.org.

#GivingTuesday is a movement to celebrate and provide incentives to give—the 2016 iteration will be held on November 29, 2016. This effort harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners—nonprofits, businesses and corporations as well as families and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.
