$200,000 in Grants Announced at 2010 Annual Meeting & Grants Celebration

On June 8, 2010, the Fund and over 150 agency representatives and community residents celebrated a successful grantmaking year at Greystone Hall in West Chester, Pa. Fifteen nonprofit organizations that specifically impact the lives of women and girls received grants totaling $200,000 in 2010.

The theme of the grants celebration and annual meeting was “Telling Your Story” and featured testimonials from Bridge of Hope, The Clinic, Domestic Violence Center, Maternal and Child Health Consortium and Volunteer English Program. A client or service worker from each organization spoke about the impact the organization has had on their lives and on the community. They also spoke of the importance of the Fund’s grants to each organization’s ability to continue to meet the needs of women and girls across the county.

Fifteen organizations who have demonstrated their commitment to girls’ positive development, women and girls’ health and well-being, and women and girls’ economic self-sufficiency and independence have been chosen by two grants committees for their programs and services. Fund grants are awarded through two grants initiatives – the general fund grants program and the award-winning “By Girls, For Girls” grants program.
