Fund to Maintain Support

Despite the economic downturn, the Fund has committed to maintaining $200,000 in funding next year through our grants programs to community organizations working to help women and girls in Chester County. This is especially important given the challenges our agencies face in meeting the ever-increasing needs of women and girls, due to the economic uncertainties we are experiencing.

During our site visits conducted in recent months, our grantees told us of their diminishing government, corporate and foundation as well as individual funding sources during a time when the economy is causing an increase in demand for services. Because of the mounting needs our communities face, our Board has resolved to continue to meet our agencies’ needs by maintaining and not reducing our level of grant funding.
